Intention Setting Service
A private preparation session designed to help you enter a plant medicine, ceremonial, or other intentional altered-state experience with greater clarity, grounding, and purpose.
A meaningful journey begins before the medicine is ever taken.
During this session, we’ll slow down and explore why you are being called to this experience, what you are bringing with you, what you hope to understand, and how you can prepare yourself to meet whatever arises with openness and care.
Preparation is not about scripting the experience or demanding a specific outcome.
It is about creating the conditions to listen.
Your Session Includes
Intention Setting + Clarifying Your “Why”
We’ll begin by exploring what is drawing you toward this experience and what feels most alive in your life right now.
Together, we may explore:
What you are seeking, questioning, grieving, releasing, or calling forward
Patterns or areas of your life that feel ready for deeper examination
What you hope to understand about yourself
Expectations you may be carrying into the journey
Fears, resistance, or uncertainty surrounding the experience
What you are willing to encounter even if it differs from what you expected
From there, we’ll develop a clear but spacious intention for your journey.
Your intention may be a question, a prayer, an invitation, or simply a commitment to remain open to what you need to see.
Spiritual + Emotional Preparation
We’ll explore practices that can help you arrive feeling more grounded, centered, and connected to yourself.
Depending on your beliefs and personal practice, preparation may include:
Meditation and breathwork
Journaling and self-reflection
Prayer or petition
Ancestral or altar work
Time in nature
Energetic cleansing
Rest and intentional slowing down
Tarot or intuitive reflection
Creating personal ritual before your experience
The purpose is not to make you “perfectly ready.”
It is to help you become more aware of what you are carrying into the experience.
Journey Mindset + Navigating the Unknown
Plant medicine experiences can be beautiful, challenging, emotional, confusing, expansive, or unpredictable.
We’ll discuss ways to approach the experience with curiosity rather than control and explore practices for meeting difficult moments without immediately resisting them.
This may include reflecting on:
Surrender versus control
Fear and emotional resistance
Working with difficult memories or emotions
Staying connected to your body and breath
Asking for support when needed
Remembering that not every image, thought, or sensation requires immediate interpretation
We’ll also discuss the importance of allowing meaning to unfold during integration rather than feeling pressure to understand everything while you are still inside the experience.
Practical Preparation + Harm Reduction
We’ll review practical considerations that can contribute to a safer and more intentional experience.
Topics may include:
Choosing a setting where you feel physically and emotionally safe
Understanding who will be present and what support is available
Establishing boundaries and consent before the experience
Transportation and post-journey plans
Creating adequate time for rest and recovery
Considering medications, health conditions, pregnancy, and other potential contraindications with an appropriate healthcare professional
Having a plan for reaching qualified medical or mental-health support if needed
This portion of the session does not include prescribing substances, determining dosage, or providing medical clearance for psychedelic or plant medicine use.
Plant + Ritual Support
When appropriate, we can explore gentle botanical and ritual allies that may complement your preparation process.
Depending on your intention, we may discuss plants traditionally associated with:
Grounding
Rest and relaxation
Emotional openness
Protection and cleansing
Courage and confidence
Heart-centered reflection
Dream work and intuition
Spiritual connection
Plant allies may be incorporated through tea, baths, altar offerings, aromatic preparations, meditation, journaling, or other appropriate ritual practices.
Creating Your Journey Intention
Before we close, we’ll distill the session into an intention you can carry into your experience.
It might sound like:
Show me what I am ready to understand.
Help me release what I no longer need to carry.
Teach me how to trust myself.
Allow me to meet this experience with openness rather than expectation.
Or your intention may simply be:
I am willing to listen.
Your intention is not a command to the medicine.
It is an anchor you can return to.
You’ll Leave With
A clearer understanding of why you are approaching this experience, a personalized journey intention, preparation practices to use beforehand, and a grounded framework for approaching the experience with openness and care.
You may also leave with journaling prompts, ritual suggestions, plant allies, or personal practices to carry into the days leading up to your journey.
The intention is for you to feel prepared without being rigid, intentional without being attached, and grounded enough to meet the experience as it unfolds.
Come Prepared With
You do not need to know exactly what you want from your journey.
Come with whatever is present — a question, a transition, a grief, a desire for change, a spiritual calling, curiosity, fear, or simply the feeling that there is something you are ready to explore.
If you already have a specific intention, bring it.
If you don’t, we’ll uncover it together.
Please Note
Pre-medicine preparation is offered for spiritual reflection, personal growth, education, and harm-reduction support. It is not medical care, psychotherapy, medical screening, or authorization to use any psychedelic substance or plant medicine.
This service does not provide substances, recommend dosages, or determine whether a particular medicine is medically appropriate for you.
Some psychedelic substances and plant medicines may have significant physical or psychological risks and may interact with medications or existing health conditions. Individuals should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional regarding medical safety, medication interactions, pregnancy, and personal health considerations before participating in a medicine experience.
