The Homecoming Retreat is an all-inclusive 8- day / 7-Night plant medicine experience hosted in the Rastafari Village of Montego Bay ,Jamaica.
This experience has been intentionally curated for Black people seeking healing space with others of like affinity.

Retreat Overview
Your journey with Kin doesn’t begin or end at the retreat. It’s held with care from the first intake to the moment you step back into daily life—and beyond. We've woven together a supportive network of practices, conversations, and community to help you integrate the experience with depth and clarity.
-
We are devoted to cultivating a safe, effective, and easeful guided path to healing. At the heart of our approach is deep personalization—an immersive intake process, intimate group settings, and highly personalized care. Our intention is to craft an environment that invites you to journey inward, with the freedom and support to explore as deeply as your soul dares to go.
-
We care deeply about your wellbeing. While this experience is appropriate for most individuals, we take the time to ensure it’s right for you personally. Before registering, you’ll receive a short medical form that allows us to thoughtfully consider your unique needs. In some cases, adjustments—such as changes to prescription medications—may be necessary to help you participate safely. If we find that it's not the right fit for you at this time, we’ll share that with care and clarity, always keeping your safety and comfort at the heart of our decision.
-
Traditional Shipibo Plant Medicine is an indigenous healing tradition that has long been revered for its depth and effectiveness. Our approach brings you the strength of an ancient tradition in an environment specifically designed to honor you, your heritage and your potential. This creates an amazing opportunity for you to:
see and know yourself and the world around you in a way you’ve never imagined.
recognize and break through old patterns and heal traumas
release shame and limiting belief patterns
feel the bond and support of community
move forward from a place of power
It can also be very effective in treating depression, anxiety, addiction, chronic pain, PTSD, and certain physical ailments.
-
Our preparation and intake process ensures your safety and helps you prepare for a deeply beneficial experience.
This process includes:
A brief medical screening completed through a personalized intake questionnaire
A one-hour video consultation with Soi Kene to explore your intention and answer any questions
Practical guidance for physical and energetic preparation, including dietary recommendations
-
The ceremonies are the heart of the retreat, often representing the most profound part of your experience. It’s natural to feel a mix of curiosity, apprehension, or uncertainty—so we devote time and care to prepare you thoroughly.
Beyond the initial pre-retreat guidance, we’ll spend time on site walking you through the ceremonial process in detail. You’ll receive safe, effective tools to navigate the experience, and each participant will meet individually with Soi Kene before each ceremony to help clarify your intentions and provide personal support.
Just before the ceremony begins, we lead a series of gentle exercises to ease nerves, foster connection, and help you enter a relaxed, receptive state.
The ceremonies are conducted in the Shipibo Indigenous Tradition. The essential tool of the Shipibo tradition are songs called icaros—sacred songs that function as healing technologies. Far more than music, they are an advanced technology designed to clean, heal and protect. Icaros create an energetic structure that holds the ceremonial space alignment, and protection. Each evening, you'll receive a personal icaro tailored to your healing goals.
Throughout your journey, our dedicated support team will be present to guide and care for you—ensuring that you feel safe, held, and supported every step of the way.
-
Our integration support is designed to help you process, reflect, and stay connected long after the retreat ends.
Support Includes:
Integration circles the morning after each ceremony
One-hour virtual consultation with Soi Kene once you return home to help integrate your experience
A post-retreat group call to reconnect and share insights
Trusted recommendations for exceptional integration specialists
Lifelong membership in the Kin alumni community to continue deepening your journey and relationships
At every moment, you are empowered to decide how deeply you'd like to engage with the process and how much you wish to share. Your presence alone is enough. Should you choose to opt out of any aspect of the weekend—including the sharing circle or even the ceremony itself—that choice is wholeheartedly honored.
We trust and respect your inner wisdom.

The Indigenous Rastafari Village sits alongside the beautiful Montego Valley River, just twenty minutes from the Sangster International Airport and downtown Montego Bay. It is a functioning community that is home to several families. Wake up to the sound of songbirds, river water and the chanting/drumming of traditional Rastafari music in the Tabernacle. Walk down a flower lined path to the garden and harvest some callaloo or cacao, and bring it up to our Ital kitchen that cooks the most delicious and authentic plant-based food.
HERE’S WHAT
PAST PARTICIPANTS
HAVE TO SAY:
“Truly a life-changing experience. I can't thank you enough. Everything about the evening was perfect - the space, the group, the energy…It was clear that our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced, approaching the meditation with the necessary level of seriousness, while remaining friendly and approachable … Most importantly, it left me with a sense of inner peace and ease in interacting with my reality.”
E. | New York City
“ I cannot overstate how grateful I am for the experience that I had. Through two consecutive ceremonies, I was able to understand how my early childhood experiences have manifested into the issues that I have in my relationships with myself, my family, and my friends…The mental calm that I experienced following my ceremonies was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Knowing that such inner peace is possible inspires me to continue on this journey of self realization.”
Nicole
“The wisdom an support of the shaman allowed me to delve deep … The ceremony was a truly loving, supportive and magical experience and the space is held beautifully. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to do deep inner work and unravel the nature of the self within the universe. Thank you so much.”
